Bees flock to this agastache, and it also is visited by tiger swallowtails, skippers, hummingbirds, and even goldfinches.

09/19/2024: Syrphid Fly on Coreopsis (Coreopsis palustris ‘Summer Sunshine’)
This coreopsis blooms in late summer and fall, providing food for pollinators.

09/19/2024: Snow Flurry white heath aster (Symphyotrichum ericoides var. prostratum ‘Snow Flurry‘) in full bloom
You can’t tell from the photo, but the asters are covered in bees, with the occasional wasp stopping by. A few geranium leaves and flowers (Rozanne) can also be seen.

09/19/2024: ‘Snow Flurry’ aster with a Common Eastern Bumble Bee
The aster flowers are about 3/8″ to 1/2″ across.

09/20/2024: Peck’s Skipper on a flower of Aster ‘Little Carlow’
‘Little Carlow’ flowers are about 1″ to 1 1/2″ across.
Skippers are a family of butterflies, and Peck’s Skipper is common in Maryland (see Common Butterflies and Skippers).

10/02/2024: Raindrops on a Hinoki cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa)
The raindrops were suspended on a web nestled among the Hinoki’s branches.
